ZBrush Movies are recordings of ZBrush activity. For example, they are a good way to show how you sculpted a model, or display the finished result as a turntable. There are a number of options to how and what you can record, described below. And for more advanced options there is the Timeline.

Load Movie

Press Load Movie to load a .ZMV ZBrush movie file.

Save As

The Save As button enables you to save this movie to a .ZMV file using a different name.

Play Movie

Press Play Movie to play a loaded .ZMV movie. It will play within the ZBrush interface.

Export

Press Export to export your movie as an MPG file.

Record

The Record button begins recording of all ZBrush activity, starting at the current frame.

Turntable

Movie Turntable

Turntable records a turntable of your model on screen. Adjust the speed of the turntable by setting Movie:Modifiers:SpinFrames. Use Spin Cycles to increase the number of times the model turns around. Use X, Y, Z or Scrn to set the axis of the rotation.

Pause

Press Pause to pause recording of the current movie. You can resume recording with the Record button, export or save the movie, or delete the movie at this time, in preparation for recording another movie.

Doc

If chosen, only the document (canvas area) will be recorded. This setting will not record any interface items even if they are in the canvas area.

Window

If chosen, the entire ZBrush window will be recorded.

Large

Large movie option

Press Large to record your movie at the same size as your screen resolution. For example, if your monitor is set to 1280×1024 you will get a movie of the same resolution.

Medium

Press Medium to record your movie at half the size of your screen resolution. For example, if your monitor is set to 1280×1024 you will record a 640×512 movie.

Small

Press Small to record your movie at one fourth your screen resolution. For example, if your monitor is set to 1280×1024 you will record a 320×256 movie.

Delete

Deletes the currently recorded movie. Use this if you want to start making another movie.

 

Overlay Image

Custom Overlay Texture

This thumbnail defines an image that will be overlaid on the recorded movie.

LR Pos

Controls the left-to-right positioning of the overlay on the movie screen. Takes a value from 0 to 1, and controls the distance from the left edge of the screen (0 is left, 1 is right). The overlay will always be fully displayed within the screen area; these values control the position of the overlay when the overlay is smaller than the screen.

TD Pos

Controls the top-to-bottom positioning of the overlay on the movie screen. Takes a value from 0 to 1, and controls the distance from the top edge of the screen (0 is top, 1 is bottom). The overlay will always be fully displayed within the screen area; these values control the position of the overlay when the overlay is smaller than the screen.

Opacity

Controls the opacity of the overlay image.

 

Title Image

Defines the image to use as the title image. Click to select.

FadeIn Time

Text How long (in seconds) the movie underneath the title image will take to fade out at the beginning of the movie. The fade out at the beginning of the movie begins with the title image opaque on the screen, and fading out over time by becoming transparent and revealing the movie underneath. A value of 0 will result in no beginning image.

FadeOut Time

FadeIn Time determines time (in seconds) for the title sequence.

Text1

FadeOut Time determines the time (in seconds) for the end sequence.

Text2

When a Text button is pressed, you will be prompted to type a line of text that will display on your beginning and end title screens. You can define up to three lines of text; Text1 will display as the topmost line on the title screen, Text2 will be the middle line, and Text3 will be the bottom line of text on the title screen.

Text3
