Masking additions
New options in the Tool>>Masking sub-palette

Boost Mask

BoostMask will refine an existing mask so that it increases in intensity. The mask does not increase in size but any partially masked points are shifted towards being fully masked. Repeated pressing of the button will eventually result in a hard-edged mask with all points fully masked.

Dilute Mask

DiluteMask will refine an existing mask so that it is reduced in intensity. Masked points are gradually shifted towards being unmasked.

Mask Changed Points

Mask Changed Points will allow the last sculpted or polypainted stroke to be converted into a mask. This can also be used with Undo History to apply a mask to all strokes made after the marked undo point. To mark an undo point, move the undo slider at the top of the interface to the required position and then Ctrl+click on the marker.
The button has two modes:

    • Closed circle (shown above): the mask will be a gradient depending on how much the points have been changed.
    • Open circle: a full mask for all changed points. This is the equivalent to pressing Boost Mask.

Flip By Posable Symmetry

The Flip By Posable Symmetry option allows you to flip masking from one side of your model to the other when the topology is symmetrical. The axis is determined by the topology. This can be especially useful when combined with the Polypaint>>Mirror By Posable Symmetry option explained in the previous section.

Mirror By Posable Symmetry

The Mirror By Posable Symmetry option allows you to mirror masking from one side of your model to the other when the topology is symmetrical. The axis is determined by the topology. The masking is mirrored at the same intensity.
