Environment Maps

The Light > Environment sub-palette provides controls for global environment illumination. The settings are used by any new LightCap which will automatically create the images.

Gdm – Global Diffuse Map icon

Click the Global Diffuse Map icon to select the image used for diffuse shading in all light environments. Images are selected from the Texture palette pop-up; to load an image from disk, select the Import button from the bottom left of the pop-up. Global Diffuse and Global Specular maps can replace complex light setups, freeing the 8 available lights for additional lighting effects.

Click the Global Specular Map icon to select the image used for specular lighting in all light environments. Gdi – Global Diffuse Intensity

The Global Diffuse Intensity slider determines the strength of the global diffuse shading defined by the Global Diffuse Map, above.

Gsi – Global Specular Intensity

The Global Specular Intensity slider determines the strength of the global specular lighting defined by the Global Specular Map, above.
